North Eastern seminar at Guwahati
(14th -16th January 2010)

The Forerunner
The two days long seminar at Guwahati was an outstanding experience. The quality of vibrations was remarkable symbolizing the inner purity and love that yogis extended for all. It indeed was a proof of the fact that when Sahaja collectivity gathers to praise our most Divine Mother and share love for each other, only vibrations- paramchaitanya prevails. The fairly large gathering of Sahaja yogis seemed inspired by the flow of divine love and this was manifested by sparkling in their eyes with the brightness on their faces.

The Programme
The Seminar was scheduled from 14th to 16th Jan 2010.

14th Jan, 2010
Registration and “Havan” were scheduled and attended mostly by the Sahaja Yogis of Assam and NE States.

15th Jan, 2010
The day’s event took off with the medical presentation made by Dr Pranavesh Mukherjee, Coordinator of West Bengal. The presentation mainly was focused on the Medical benefits of Sahaja Yoga and various Sahaja techniques adopted for combating the common medical ailments and other diseases. The presentation was very engrossing and had a deep impact on the audience that was greatly appreciated by the Yogis. This was followed by a short meditation session with Sahaja music conducted by Delhi Yogis. The flow of vibrations was joyful and phenomenal.  Later Mr Nalgirkar, the Trustee Member hosted a short session on protocol in Sahaja Yoga and attended to the related queries. This was followed by a beautiful cultural programme that continued through 10.30 p.m. in the late evening.

16th Jan, 2010
Immediately after the breakfast the morning session commenced at around 10.30 with a brief session on meditation. This was followed by a hour long presentation on the ‘Advancement of Sahaj Yoga in the North-eastern states’ by Lt. Gen (Retd) VK Kapoor, Trustee member. This session covered many of the vital factors that were focused with direct action that was identified. The basic point of discussion was pivotal on what our Shri Mataji’s divine vision was for the Nirmala Devi Sahaja Yoga Trust (referred to as the National Trust). The salient points that were discussed in March 2005 during the first meeting of the Trustees were deliberated and discussed at length in the session that followed. Focus was emphasized on these following areas of interest.

  1. What work does the Divine Vision involve?
  2. How can it be achieved?
  3. What the States are required to do?
  4. What assistance the Trust can provide?

At the end of the session excerpts from H.H.Shri Mataji’s speeches dealing with the need to give Self realization to all seekers were highlighted to motivate the Sahaja Yogis. It was a very delicate and touching moment as pin drop silence prevailed when an excerpt of Her desire was read loud where Mother urges to all yogis to remember that ‘until every seeker who desires ‘Moksha’ is given Self realization, She will not be happy’. A few could be seen with moist eyes as emotions gripped the collectivity. The atmosphere was charged with bhakti and surrender after the passage were read out and assimilated.

Printed instructions of action the States are required to carry out along with some guidelines on how the Self realization programme should be initiated and conducted were also distributed to representatives of all states. It was appraised and assured that teams for spreading Sahaja Yoga in the region could also join them from the rest of India if required. However it was requested that firm base for logistics must be made available to the touring team by the concerned State so that they could effectively pursue their mission accordingly.

Concluding the session on ‘Advancement of Sahaja Yoga’ another separate and special session on ‘Question and Answer’ was held once again to clarify any remaining and basic doubts regarding all the issues raised in the session.

This session finally was concluded with a special prayer composed for the occasion that was read out in English and in Hindi.

“Please grant me complete satisfaction in my heart, joy in my heart, bliss in my heart, so that the whole world becomes blissful. Give me love, love that I could love the whole world and the whole world becomes one in love. Give salvation to the humanity which is suffering. Take me to your feet and cleanse me with thy love.

O our Divine Mother, You are the Glory of all Glory. I know that you love me and you will protect me. You are the one who guides me. You have created me to reveal your love – Oh Goddess I accept your love from my heart.

Later in the afternoon, after the lunch, a special public programme was organized where 250 seekers received their Self realization. The vibrations were so strong that people were reported to experience chilling cold. Later in the evening a special Puja prayer was offered at the Holy Lotus Feet of Shri Mataji which was yet another blissful experience. After the Puja the organizers extended some gifts in form of mementos to all the guests.

Proposal for New Coordinators for Assam and the NE States
The current coordinators earnestly appealed and requested that the names forwarded for the post of new Coordinator and Joint Coordinators for Assam and the NE States be approved at the earliest so as to promote the Advancement of Sahaja Yoga with the required vigour and dynamism.

Separate Coordinators for the Remaining NE States
This matter was discussed at length with the coordinators in the presence of representation from the members of National Trust of India. The general consensus was of the opinion that currently owing to the non-availability of suitable Yogis nomination for separate coordinators for the NE States may be deferred. Therefore, the state of Assam should continue to oversee the work in the region and also take the responsibility in coordinating all activities from North Eastern Region as a whole. It was appraised by the joint coordinator of Assam that currently there are about 3600 Sahaja Yogis in entire north east region with approx 2000 from Sikkim and 1000 from Assam. Hence the region requires considerable amount of attention to ensure the horizontal and vertical spread of Sahaja yoga in the region.

After a detailed discussion it was decided that a Joint Coordinator be nominated from each NE State who would liaise with the Assam State Coordinator for coordinating the work of Advancement of Sahaja Yoga in their respective States. A list of Sahaja Yogis desirous of pursuing ‘Advancement of Sahaja Yoga’ work from each state was later extended to Lt Gen. VK Kapoor (Retd). (Trustee Member)

Attendance and Event Management
The programme was attended by 435 Sahaja Yogis (registered) which included 197 from the rest of India and 238 from NE region.

Mr. Kishaloy Purkayastha , convener of the seminar along with a very competent team of yogis collectively shouldered an extraordinary job of arranging the entire event with full dedication. It indeed was divine driven that not only reflected a praiseworthy effort but quite challenging too which could only be possible by the blessings and attention of Shri Mataji throughout. It tangibly could be felt in the love that overflowed all over since day one of the seminar.

By the holy grace of Shri Mataji all activities of the event were successfully concluded.

Shri Mataji, we thank You again and again for this wonderful opportunity that You blessed us to be One with You for these two memorable days of Guwahati Seminar. We pray May Thy Will be done’! Amen

Jai Shri Mataji
